The 4th Edition of the ‘NMDC Grace Cancer Run’ to be held in 150 countries, on October 10th!

• ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, inspires this year’s theme of ‘Freedom from Cancer
• Over 50,000 from all corners of the globe already registered and raring to go
• Run to sensitize against neglecting cancer detection & care, despite pandemic

Hyderabad, 4^th October 2021: The fourth edition of the Guinness World Record holding ‘NMDC Grace Cancer Run‘ being hosted by Grace Cancer Foundation (GCF), will be held in a Hybrid format this year of both virtual and in-person, on the 10^th October 2021 in over 150 countries. The in-person run in Hyderabad will be held at the Gachibowli Stadium at 6.00 am. The theme for this year’s run, ‘Freedom from Cancer’ is inspired by the 75 years of India’s Independence celebrations, ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.’ The Run is sponsored by NMDC and powered by Ryan and Apollo Hospitals. In 2020, the Grace Cancer Run won the Coveted Guinness World Records on two counts of, most live viewers for a female health awareness lesson on YouTube and most videos of people running/ jogging uploaded to Facebook in one hour and is proactively aspiring for more recognitions this year.

The ‘NMDC Grace Cancer Run’ this year will be in a hybrid format, to enable participants to choose as per their convenience between the virtual and physical running. The virtual run of course amplifies the reach of the message on early Cancer detection and prevention by manifold, across the globe, says Dr Chinnababu Sunkavalli, CEO, Grace Cancer Foundation.

The Run will be in three categories of 5K, 10K and 21.1K (Half Marathon). Each participant registering for the Run will be provided with an ‘e-bib’ (a personalized, printable picture). The participants need to log on to activity Apps of their choice, though Strava is the preferred app for recording the run. After the completion of the run, the runners have to post the distance of the run along with a selfie or photograph with the bib on the chest for the organizers to record their participation. The winners will be eligible for exciting prizes of Rs 10,000 for 1^st Prize; Rs 6,000 for 2^nd Prize and Rs 3,000 for 3^rd Prize.

Last year 50000 people from 119 nations participated in the Global Grace Cancer Run and GCF is striving to enhance the participation to 150 countries.
